Are these the new "Dark Ages"?

The so-called Dark Ages is a term that drives historians nuts, but it persists in popular culture so we’re going to talk about it. With religious fundamentalism on the rise throughout the world, people often wonder, are we entering a new Dark Ages?

We’ll have this discussion inside The Met’s medieval art galleries where we’ll learn about the Middle Ages, the very famous jerk who started calling them “Dark Ages,” and discuss how and if this relates to our contemporary culture.
