On Sunday, I had brunch with my dear friend Jenny Kroik. She’s an illustrator with whom I have hosted three art-making workshops at my family’s resort Borgo La Pietraia. (We plan to offer another workshop in 2026.) Jenny told me she was leaving for Florence the very next day, but because she has been so busy working, she hadn’t had time to research or plan anything. My intention for all the Destination Deep Dives is that you get exactly what you need for a meaningful trip, without feeling overwhelmed by research or worried that you’re making the wrong choice or getting steered into a tourist trap. That’s also the purpose of the monthly Ask Me Anything About Italy Zoom meetings.
