I’m freshly back from a research trip where I tested out a few new things and road-tested some of my regular recommendations.

First, I am staunch on my position that you absolutely must make reservations if you want to eat well in Rome. Even though there seems to be a restaurant on every corner with plenty of people who seem to be enjoying what they’re eating, Rome is a landmine of meh to bad food.

Second, I think I’ve truly nailed my Italy capsule wardrobe. I went with just a carry-on and a backpack and had plenty of room to spare. Should I do a podcast episode about packing?
